I recently did this book as a bible study with the ladies at church. The group leader threw this book away twice because it was so challenging. If you are willing and ready to make your marriage ALL it could be, then read this book. It addresses what our role is in making ourselves and our homes all that God desires. If you are the"pants wearing wife" in your home or the "I am woman, hear me roar" kind or role model then this book is definately for you too, you just won't like it. :) It will challenge every kind of woman to your very soul. It helps you identify what kind of husband you have and how to best approach and honor him. It may be difficult more for some than others, especially if you have a marriage that is stuggling. I highly recommend this book if you are ready to make a change in YOUR thinking and actions. If your marriage is in a wonderful state...this is a must read for you too...to help maintain what God has blessed you with. I have been done with this book for weeks, but I am constantly challenged on a daily basis, asking myself, "Am I being my husbands help-meet by what I just said or did?" Stick with this book, accept the challenge and learn more about your marriage and your husband through powerful scripture throughout this book.
Mark of the Lion Series by Francine Rivers
This is my all time favorite fictional series of books. The events that transpire through the pages of these books will tranform you and challenge you to live your life out for the Lord. You will no longer be ashamed to show others that you are a Child of the King and have Jesus as your Savior. You will become so engrossed in this series you will not want to put it down! You will walk thru the life of Hadassah. Feel her pain and her joy! You will recognize the evil and lawlessness of Rome equals that to today's world that we live in. Be ready to get on your knees in prayer for your walk with the Lord to become more, for your family and for all humankind.
A Family Guide to the Biblical Holidays by Robin Sampson and Linda Pierce
This book has helped me so much over the years and still does. It has given me a very understandable, yet very detailed viewpoint on all the Biblical Holidays. It helps you discover Jesus in all of them and how it ties in to scripture and history. It makes the holidays come alive and have this incredible spiritual meaning that you may have never realized before. It also have many crafts, family games and ideas to help make it fun for the kids too.
